Associate Prof. Cristiano M. Chiessi
After obtaining his PhD at the University of Bremen, Germany, and accomplishing a post-doctoral research stay at the Brazilian National Institute for Space Research, Cristiano M. Chiessi joined the University of São Paulo, Brazil, where he is now an Associate Professor. He is an expert in Paleoceanography and Paleoclimatology. The main research topics addressed by him are: South American monsoon, late Quaternary, millennial-scale climate change, meridional overturning circulation, carbonate and bulk sediment geochemistry, and South Atlantic. Cristiano M. Chiessi is currently a member of the PAGES Scientific Steering Committee as well as the IODP Science Evaluation Panel.
